I'm going on soundclips of Fender's HW reissue, and I'm more than a little motivated by Clapton's tone with Steve Winwood. I know nobody's going to get that John Shur custom tone, but maybe in the ballpark?

Here's the stuff I like:

- 12AY7 at V1
- bias taps
- half power switch
- I assume you could also use 6V6, 5881 etc.
- beefy iron
- Head form factor
- chassis pics appear to show carbon comps selectively used

I would prefer Switchcraft over cliff jacks, but that's minor.

The biggest drawback is the lavender colored faceplate.  It clashes with everything!
