Keep in mind these are clones of the Tweed Fenders, simpler Western Electric-based circuits with a lot more midrange and a lot less headroom than the later Blackface/Silverface Fenders.  "Tweed Tone" is fatter, more primitive, more organic and more lo-fi, it is more comparable to Marshalls than any other Fender amps and have little in common with the clean, scooped-mids signature "Fender Tone" of the Blackface/Silverface amps.  Tweed amps are not "Fender Tone" in cooler cloths.  So, when comparing make sure to compare to the correct '50'sd models or the correct Tweed RI's.

That said, these circuits are simple, and harder to screw up, and I feel all clones that stay true to the original schematic should sound similar enough for rock and roll.  Big differences can be made with different transformers, tubes or speakers.

I just purchased a 5e3, the one that is on YouTube demoed by palmiuga. It happens we live close....

I must say that its quite beautifully sounding.  I've been to a shop with my strat to try a fender reissue, and it's the same amp...except for the fact that i found the reissue a tad bit colder, just a little bit more honey on the ceriatone. I'm not able to say now where does the difference come from, both amps have been played in quite dampened and not very big rooms...

The Ceriatone I bought has a Tad cabinet and a Jensen Alnico 5 P12N, I wasn't able to check the Fender reissue....

Anyway it's a great amp, it's a bit difficult to stop playing once you're on!

wait till you find the sweet spots! although its incredibly easy to use, wont take long of course.

i only just really started playing with the channels jumpered so im using the mic channel with a hint of the bright instrument channel and for my setup it really brings out some nice highs.

kinda annoying how it shakes my room which kills alot of bass notes but i just gotta find somewhere with better accoustics in the house.

Mcinku? wanna elaborate on the tubes statement?! any recomendations?!  - this is my first tube amp and im just learning my way through - im quite convinced an overtone is next (or hiwat if Nik moves there) (when my budget allows).
