i notice that there are many mods to the circuit avaiable eg: for HB guitars.

Is Nik's layout exactly as per the original, or does it incoporate any of theses mods?

Cheers
Phil

Pretty much a straight clone of the 5E3 circuit, but if ordering a built amp, I believe Nik is open to incorporating any requested mod.

Mods and EQ voicing seem to be a very personal thing, from what I've seen people start with the stock and tweak to fix the issues they note with their own guitar.

honestly, I love Tweed Deluxes, mine is a '60 (and stock, except the speaker), but if I wanted to use HB's, I might use one of the old Gibson Tweed circuits*.  They were voiced for Gibson's P-90's and HB's; just the same as Leo Fender's amps were voiced for Fender guitars.  The GA-20 was the old equivalent of a Tweed Deluxe (though is more comparible to the ealrier Deluxes, with octal preamps).

Actually, I would just use a Marshall JTM45 or Plexi 50, myself.
