Can someone tell me what the .01uF 3kV cap on the rectifier socket does?

In conjunction with the diodes, the cap helps to protect the tube recto, when used with standby switch

Not needed for 5Y3s usually, it's GZ34s thats a concern.

Would be good to have. Many people like to stick GZ34s anywhere they can.... Smiley
