Title: Just Ordered 36W EF86 Post by: jimR8 on March 09, 2009, 04:10:50 PM I just pulled the trigger on a 36W EF86 from Nik! I am sooooooooo pumped!!!
He is such a good guy to work with! What are your folks opinion of this little tone monster? Title: Re: Just Ordered 36W EF86 TMB Post by: jimR8 on March 30, 2009, 09:57:31 PM Should be getting my amp in the next week or so. Question for anyone regarding the "burn-in" period on the tubes.
Does this mean just leave the amp with the power on for some amount of time? Or, does the guitar need to be giving the amp a signal? I do not know where Nik gets his tubes from. Generally the dealer will install a box of tubes in a burn box that has a lot of tube sockets to accommodate all the tubes. I think 48 hours is the standard time period. It is basically a pas/fail test because modern day tubes can have a pretty high rate of failure, even right from the factory. Other than that I would not worry about it. I would not want to gig with an amp full of brand new tubes, but just install them and play at home for awhile.
Good Luck Title: Re: Just Ordered 36W EF86 Post by: Ronman on April 25, 2009, 08:20:33 PM Congrats!
I just pulled the trigger on a EF86 this am. I sent Nik an email yesterday afternoon with a question and I had a reply an hour later. I am stoked as well! I'm a "newbie" having just registered today. Let us know it turns out, I will be watching for your posts. I'm a "newbie" having just registered today and was glad to see somebody else went for the EF86. |
