Title: About to purchase TMB EF86 Post by: marT on January 15, 2011, 08:15:12 AM Hi all,
I'm about to purchase the 18w TMB EF86 kit and need all the advice and information people can give me. I have bult two metro amps JTM45's with great success and various pedals from BYOC. They all had essentially step by step instructions though so it was pretty much fool proof. Working just off a layout will be somewhat more difficult but I think I can do it. I'm wondering if anyone has any gut shots that might be useful for me? any other advice? I'm also wondering do the kits come with wire and hardware for bolting on the trannies/tube sockets? Cheers. That will generally apply to all guitar amps. Schematics for a Ceriatone are all in the public domain, and available from the INTERNET.
Ask Nik about his kits, he will tell you. But yes, all necessary parts will be included. Look at the Ceriatone web-site. it is FULL of gut shots. Good Luck Title: Re: About to purchase TMB EF86 Post by: marT on January 19, 2011, 09:18:58 PM thanks, I found the pictures on the site so hopefully I'll do alright.
I did find some inconsistencies with the pictures and the layout though. On the layout there are diodes on the rectifier tube but on the images there is nothing. Also there isn't shielded wire going to V1 from the input and a few other things.
