ok, this is probably posted somewhere, but i can't find it.  i am building an open backed cab for my overtone special while i wait for it to come [10weeks is a long wait!]  i have been told that the chassis is 1.5"X7.20"X 18.25".  i just cannot believe that the faceplate is only 1.5""!!!!!   can anyone help me, please?  laurie

Who told you that??  The Overtone chassis is 18.25 x 8 x 2.5.  If you are making a typical "snug fit" cab to the chassis leave a bit of space on the 18.25 length as there are screw heads that protrude beyond that measurement.

Isn't chassis more like 19.25 x 8 x 2.5

Might be of absolutely no use to you but attached is a CorelDraw file showing my plans for the OTS head cabs I built. You will find the chassis dimensions in the drawing. The drawing isn't quite finished since it doesn't show the rear batten and rear cover plate, plus some of the labling needs finishing.

The wee bit is an eigth of an inch. Each screw head is about a 16th of an inch and you've got some on each side. THe corel file would be great but I can't open corel files. Illustrator wouldn't open it, nor fireworks or PS so I'm downloading Corel trial.
