Hi Nik,
You need to put this back on the list, I aquired mine from a friend here in San Antonio, it had a few issue's but after about 20 min's all's well, it's a great sounding and very Quite amp ! I'm retired now, but ran my own repair & mod shop for 25 yr's, I've worked for a lotta band's here in Texas and i know good tone when i hear it, your amp's have that !
I got to try your Overtone out the other night, My Friend was very excited on recieving it, The amp will be a Success ! it has great tone and loved the 70's LP with mini Humbucker's, the Strat sounded good through it but had a slightly thinner tone. the Clean's were good and the OD was Great, did'nt get much time on the amp, but was impressed by what I heard,
I Will Recommend your kit's. They're a lotta Bang for the Buck !
and will be adding a few to my wish list !

I think herby's right.  However, the DC-30 is a little more pristine. to get a vox sound our of your Matchless (or badcat), switch the impedance to half of what it should be.  So, in other words, plug into a 16 ohm cab, and set your impedance selector to 8 ohms.  That makes it sound and feel just like a VOX.  it won't be quite as loud, but it'll nail that vox sound.

DISCLAIMER: your output tranny isn't meant to do this.  Periodically check if it's getting hot (and by hot I mean too hot to completely grab it for more than 4 seconds).  That's the best way to make sure you don't fry anything.  I do it all the time on my creme brulee, and I can cop the vox sound to a T.

I would have to buy an AC30 kit if it is offered again. The ultimate AC30 for me would be the Normal + Topboost +the EF86 channel instead of the vibe-trem. I'm thinking of trying this on my own if no one offers it as a kit in the near future.

I spoke to Nik last year about this...I'd love a Ceriatone AC30, so I can retire my original Vox one!  Nik's designed the layout, but I think it's too complicated and time-consuming for him to bother putting into production at the mo.  Mind you, if enough people wanted it...?!

Come on..the only other viable AC30 maker out there is the UK made JMI...and they're about £2000 a go!!!  I'm sure there's a great niche in the market for Ceriatone there!  The DC 30 is great, but it's just not quite the same as a Vox...it's got its own thing going on.  Except for the JMI I don't know of any other reasonably available maker of classic Vox circuits.  Not here in the UK, anyway!

I'm going to ask Santa for it!!! :-)
