Title: A soundclip using cranked Plexi 50 with PPIMV
Post by: DDGUITAR on December 27, 2007, 12:31:04 AM
Here's another recording using the PPIMV as an attenuator.

I recorded this in my living room using an OD pedal for the leads and just the amp for the riffing.

I just did some experimenting and I found that setting the PPIMV really low to get bedroom volume gain does loosen up the bass and makes everything a bit "darker".

I had to turn presence and treble up full to get the guitar lo cut through the bass and drum parts.

really nice!!! what kind of speakers  and pedals do you usually use ?

i'm really considering getting a G12H or Vintage 30 for my plexi but v30 sounds a little bit too bright for me

this clip sounds similar to satriani live guitar sound. really nice :) :)

Thanks! :)

I use a 1x12 cabinet with a V30 speaker.

I find it to be the best and most efficient all round speaker for rock and modern blues.

I like Satch's live sound very much.  8)

Oh yeah..the pedals.  ;D

Until the wah part it was a Maxon OD9, from the wah part it was a Reeza Fratzitz with a Vox wah.
Delay and reverb were added later.

No pedals on the rhythm track.

Dude! That was an awsome clip! Really liked the song AND the playing too! Can you record some more clips? I would really like to hear some more riffing without solos and without the pedals. Just some riffing with the amp volumes full up, and the PPIMV set to bedroom level!
BTW, what guitar did you use?

Keep on rockin'!

Hey, thanks a lot! ;D

Here's a short recording I did with only amp and HSS Strat.
