If the issue is that the amp is not switching channels when you step on the footswitch, I had a similar issue a few months ago.  Turned out the ground wire had become disconnected.  Quick fix with a soldering iron.

That is a cabinet that Dr. Ika (pickmaster) designed with internal mics.  Here's a link:  http://p11.hostingprod.com/@guitarampcab.com/home.html

They are cables that measure between 100pf & 200pf in capacitance.  Mine are made from teflon cabling & Switchcraft ends.  I ordered from Glaswerks in AZ, Gary's a great guy (his SODII amp is on my wishlist!).  Good luck!

Completely agree.  I have spent the last 3 years tweaking my original OTS50 through different circuits, ending up with "Ojai" (#102) specs.  The D-lator with 200pf cables is integral to my sound (which does not sound like RF or LC or anyone else, just helps with the shaping of the chewy tone I look for).

7  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Just Got My OTS FM50 on: January 10, 2011, 07:11:01 AM
My understanding is that the effect of the bright cap diminishes as the master volume is turned up.  Further, once you add in the D-lator & the cables needed to interface the amp/D-lator combination, & the brightness, again, is diminished.

It seems Mr. Lerner is a fan of the bright, "Ojai" (or "Ford Mustang") circuit.  The earlier Ayan/Lerner mods (JZucker mods as they are sometimes referred to on this forum) were suggested to bring the early version(s) of the OTS closer to spec with the known, accepted values of a select few Dumble amps.

I've owned my OTS for over 2 years now, constantly reworking it to try to refine the tones available.  This is the latest version, a bastard Ojai'd version (done before Nik released his "Ford" model).  Here's a link:

The clip is the amp with some detuned delay (courtesy of the Intellifex/C-lator).  Guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Std w/Dimarzio 36th Anniv pups & RS Guitarworks wiring harness.

Awesome!  Been following this thread from the start, great job, congrats on the new build.  Play the snot out of it now!
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Smartulator vs Verbrator on: November 05, 2010, 04:52:12 PM
Bob, do you notice some difference sound-wise?

I like the Verbrator  it sure changes the amp sounds a bit, making it more balanced and less shrill. Only I just got this awful noise through the speakers when the Verbrator is on  Huh? sounds like a broken tube or so...

Emiel, this is difficult to answer because the C-lator now functions as my "global" master volume, and the Fuchs did not work in that capacity.  With the Fuchs, I only ever used it in parallel mode, so the volume knob on the Fuchs controlled only the amount of effect added to my signal.  With the C-lator (which is a series only function) I control the amount of effects through parameters within the rack unit while the In/Out/Drive & bright switches work in conjunction with my amp's features to shape my overall tone.
11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Eventide H300 in the loop on: November 05, 2010, 04:46:14 PM
The C-lator is advisable for any applications where the loop is implemented, but also in general for the effect it has on the tone of the amp even without effects running through it.

The K-lator, or the Fuchs Verberator or Tube-FX-Loop work equally as well, although each may have its own pros/cons in relation to the C-lator.

Good luck!
12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Smartulator vs Verbrator on: November 03, 2010, 01:57:34 AM
I've got a Fuchs Tube-FX-Loop & a C-Lator, ran them both for a while, have run them separately as well.  They both sound great, but for effects that don't have internal parallel operation (like most pedals), the Fuchs is the way to go.  Since I don't use pedals anymore, and the rack effects I do use have internal parallel mixers, I only use the C-Lator now.  The Fuchs sits, collecting dust...
13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: How do you use your OTS? on: October 07, 2010, 11:50:19 PM
Very similar to you, I only need a wah & the OTS footswitch live (although I do also have a MIDI foot controller for the rack mounted Intellifex).  Otherwise, 50w OTS, 2x12" cab, C-lator/Intellifex in the loop.  First volume is set between 5 and 7 as well.

Emiel:

Is there a way for you to record your amp for us to hear?  Even just an mp3 clip might help us hear what might be going on with your setup.
15  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Question to all the modders out there on: September 11, 2010, 04:30:54 PM
On the other hand, avoid all TAD 12AX7s. I bought a couple, the 7025, the 7025s highgrade and whatever else, and they're all rubbish. Waste of money.
For V1 I still have to find a tube that sounds better than the Tung-Sol 12AX7 and for V3 take a Sovtek 12AX7LPS.

Can't quite agree with this, the TAD's I'm running in my modded OTS sound GREAT!  While I won't recommend ANY tube for it's presumed sound, I will recommend TAD's, JJ's, and Tung-Sol's for their ruggedness (for the most part).
