If you go back to 2011, page 17, you'll see the guts of this amp, in it's former home made green cab. A few weeks ago, I came across a guy locally who was selling this great Mather cab for this amp, so snagged it for an excellent price, threw in a EVM12L, and we're off!

I haven't done any comparisons, but I installed MM's in my Bluesmaster 50 and it sounds fantastic.

Works fine here - try a different browser.

No reason not to, as long as you're using that hard to get teflon shielded coax.

Mercury Magnetics sells a transformer set specifically for the ceriatone OTS 50 watt amps - http://www.mercurymagnetics.com/pages/mainframe.htm

I don't know if this is still the case, but Nik was a dealer for them a few years ago - contact him about this - I was able to buy a transformer set from them via Nik at a discounted price, no international shipping (these things are HEAVY!!!)

But as tenguitars says you really need to find out what's causing the trannies to blow. They shouldn't, and if everything is working properly will last nearly forever.
6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Help me decide - BM50 vs BM100 vs OTS20 on: June 15, 2014, 04:01:53 AM
Anybody considering the Bluesmaster, has to know that the clean side is limited in volume. If you're not playing with boosts in the effect loop, I find my 100 watts Bluesmaster to be no louder than a Fender Deluxe.

Really? Is this just your amp or have you polled this group? Because I've never heard this before, at least on this forum in the 3-4 years I've had my bluesmaster 50. My Bluesmaster clean channel is huge sounding - deafening at around 2 on the master volume. Running it into 2 EV 12L's. Are you sure your amp is working correctly?
7  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Seeking suggestions for dark, muddy tone in BM50 on: March 09, 2014, 03:29:51 AM
Mine's fairly bassy also. I run the bass knob right at 2, the mid at 5 for strats and lower for humbuckers, and the treble between 7 and 8, presence at least in the middle. The strat sounds a lot better through this amp in general to my tastes - actually it's a really great strat sound, hard to beat.
8  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: DIY Head Enclosure Cab for OTS 50 on: February 26, 2014, 04:43:03 AM
That sounds fine to me - 15mm is pretty thick stuff. And it's plywood, which has a lot of structural integrity, so it should be fine. And it's DIY, so if it doesn't work out, you can just do it again!
9  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Where can I buy fuse in USA on: February 16, 2014, 04:56:01 AM
There are 2 fuses. I don't know what kind they are; take the burnt one to radio shack or someplace like that and get a new one. Home Depot or Lowes probably also have them. If the new one blows fairly quickly you've got some other problem to deal with.
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: BM Treble Cap Value Question on: January 03, 2014, 05:20:23 AM
1n vs. 2n is a really tiny difference as far as caps go. Considering that caps are generally 5-10% tolerance, I wouldn't worry about this small a difference.

The "dark" nature of BM amps is more due to them having a ton of low end, rather than a lack of high end. I run the bass knob down at about 2, and that seems to balance things out.
11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Mid boost trouble shooting on: November 29, 2013, 04:05:48 AM
Which model OTS? Most of these have been out for quite a while, and I've never seen any other complaints about the mid boost not working - I'd think that if this is something that just got fixed, none of them would have worked up to this point (and mine on my bluesmaster works fine).
12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: OTS Relay Board Diode Values on: November 07, 2013, 04:22:07 AM
It is odd that those aren't specified on the layout - just about everything else is. I just looked at the pics I took of mine while it was in progress of being built, but couldn't make out the values. Perhaps contact Nik about this - he's usually very quick to reply about this kind of thing.
13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: My hrm 50 just arrived.. Much sooner than expected:) on: October 23, 2013, 02:54:02 AM
Doesn't sound right. Contact Nik - there may be some kind of setting that's wrong, or perhaps something got damaged in shipping.
14  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Foot switch PAB green light does not come on.... on: October 15, 2013, 02:53:14 AM
Wiggle the connection on the back of the amp, see if that helps. Believe it or not, such low tech solutions sometimes work. If that doesn't work, unscrew the 4 screws holding the box together and check the connections on the nonfunctional led - pull the tape off, make sure everything's connected. If it still doesn't work, it's a fairly straightforward thing to replace - I don't know the part number, but I'm sure a quick email to Nik will reveal all.
15  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: HELP! my OTS PT doesn't fit the chassis!! on: September 30, 2013, 03:58:01 AM
Mine didn't fit exactly, sort of like yours. Some work with a drill press, and some washers and you'll be fine.
