Title: OTS 50 HRM OD issue
Post by: Glennj on January 13, 2018, 07:18:43 PM
Hey guys. I just bought an OTS 50 HRM and was delighted with the clean channel. However the OD channel was sort of a let down. It’s rather flubby and harsh with too much high end. I tried adjusting the HRM trim pots and got nowhere. I disconnected the HRM circuit; and while it helped it still didn’t sound what I had expected. I do not have a lator of any sort which I’ve heard helps. But I just read here that having the heat wires in the air will fix this issue. I’m rather confused as to what the mechanism of action is when having the heat wires in the air. If anybody else here has any suggestions please help. I’d hate to be out a big chunk of money on an amp.

Hi
I'm no expert, but I can tell you the kleinulator makes a world of difference. Like you, I think the od sounds harsh without it. It realy allows you to get these dark creamy dumbly tones.
The only downside is that it also darkens the clean channel, so it's a bit of a challenge to find a good balance (I haven't touched the internal trimmers though)
