I used Ken Fischers "Type 2" Master Volume from the Trainwreck pages (p. 42) using dual gang 100K linear pot. It seemed to be a lot smoother sounding than the usual 1 meg pot types. It can be found at angela.com or Gerald Webers "Desktop Reference Of Hip Vintage Guitar Amps".

Definitely VVR or powerscaling on this amp if you want to retain the trademark Trainwreck characteristics.

I like the type 2 PPIMV on my JCM800 but the Express and Liverpool really have that special immediate breakup from all the tubes at once that an sort of master volume would get in the way of.
