Okay, so I'm rethinking my entire philosophy towards my guitar and amp set up...and moving back towards what I was using 5 years ago before I started chasing certain specific tones...

For some reason I find myself drawn to the JTM45. I have had chance to play through an original a few years ago and remember it as being an amazing amp for blues, but what I want to know is how they handle more rock tones?

Think Bruce Springsteen type rawness with a Telecaster into the front end through a Tubescreamer. Easy enough to get?

Or is a JTM50 a better option and will this still get the bluesy tones the JTM45 is famed for?

Well, you can swap out the rectifier for a solid state one like mike at kcanostubes sells, and it will tighten the amp up substantially, throw a tubescreamer or similar in front of it and it could do some raw rock stuff. If you put a master volume on it, you can really get some crunch out of it as well.

Hope this helps!

Overdrive is like peanut butter. Some like it crunchy, some like it creamy.
Bluesmaster 50 2x12 combo and some guitars.
