I was wondering if it is possible to plug a bass into Ceriatone's JTM45 without any of the components being damaged. I have always wanted to play a bass through a tube amp and my friend has a 4X10 cab that I'm thinking of plugging it into if anyone else has tried this without blowing anything sky high. I know many amps from back in the day, especially bass amps, could be used with both bass and guitar as long as they were paired up with the right speakers. Can anyone vouch for this?

You got the right idea.  The JTM45 was modeled after the '59 Bassman so connect the right speaker and play away!  Scott

With the right speaker, it won't hurt the amp at all.

But it makes a lousy bass amp.  Too little headroom to drive enough low end to compete with guitar amps and way to loose on the bottom end.
