I just have to say my new 18 watt is sounding KILLER! I finished it up today and it sounded badass for over an hour. I used this layout here:
http://www.ceriatone.com/images/layoutPic/marshallLayout/TMBEFceriatone.jpg

I used Weber transformers from a 36watt build I did previously
THEN

My ef86 channel dropped out and has minimal output. A little crackle and it was kaput! I of course do not have another ef86 on hand to swap out.

Who can recommend reliable ef86's to try out?Huh?

And here are my voltages for y'all to look over and mention if there is anything crazy.

v1
1 85v
2
3 1v
4
5
6 84v
7
8 1v

v2
1 122v

6 122v

v3
1 160
2 64
3 85

6 166
7 63
8 85

v4

6 234
7 135
8 135

8
9 310

v6

So taking pin 3 cathode from my el84's (10) and the 5 watt resistor (150) I get
10 / 150 =0.067
0.067 / 2 (tubes) = 0.0335

so 33.5mA per tube

Please speak up if I am crazy....
