Mirc,

Cool! Great man!

Hey Davor,

Why dont we do this: For the ease for users to hear the clips, lets have a section where you can't post. Instead, it's just a bunch of soundclip files.

This way, the actual files are easier to find.

Users can still post the clips on the forum, like Mirc did, of course.

But if we decide to use it, we can put it up on this special section.

I am not with lots of resources (why website is always slow to update). This way, the process is easier.

What do you think man?

Thanks!

Nik

Mirc, that sounds awesome. Tell us more about your amp, what speaker?

Thanks  ;),

my champ has a few mods... Choke, Standby Sw., Tone Stack Bypass Sw. and switchable bias so I can use 6V6 or 6L6 for more power. I recorded this with 6V6.
I also used my Greenback 1x12" cab, MIC used was SM57 through VTB1 SP preamp. (no effects, just a touch of VST reverb for the mixdown)

Rhythm track my tele (neck pup) - Lo input, Bass at 10 o'clock, Treble at 12 o'clock and volume at 1 o'clock,
Lead tone the same tele (bridge pup), same input and tone controls, Volume all the way up,
at 01:39 Tone Stack OFF - Volume at full blast (Tweed mode kicks in)

Wow! Timd, very nice playing. (and sound)
My 5E3 is almost finished so maybe I'll build a vibro champ next.  :)
Maybe I would better spend some money on lessons instead of another amp. :-[
Anyway, congrats on your sound AND playing.

thanks guys...

It's going into an Amwatts cab with 2 x 12in Mojo's.  I think they're a V30 clone but seem to be little harsh or brittle in the top end for me.  There wasn't much thought that went into that recording, if I experiment a little more I can pull much nicer sounds than that.

The reverb was added at the mixing stage.  My champ has excess hum in it at moment but once that's dealt with I might do a dry recording and go through the tremolo, eq, and crank it and then with some pedals in one recording.  Great little amp!

that's one of the greatest recordings I've heard of any amp to date!  That recording alone convinced me to pull the trigger on a vibrochamp kit.  Great, great playing!

BF Vibro Champ, Tele with Tonerider pickups, and some Tonerider pedals.

Thank you for posting those clips Timd. They sounded great. If my ebay bidding don't win my an official Vibro Champ, I'll be placing an order for a Ceriatone BF Vibro Champ.

I should make a special mention that the overdrive in a couple of the songs is courtesy of Tonerider stomp boxes.

Solid pine and 12inch Celestion Greenback.

The amp itself actually sounds quite good when cranked.  I don't hear any 'flubbery' bottom end that some say the Champ suffers from when cranked.

So I got me one too! It's got a little hum but it still sounds nice. I'll get a technician on it soon

here's my champ amp with an M.I Audio TubeZone providing the drive.  You can almost see the back of the amp to the left.

Timd, have you got a wide neck on that strat or is it an illusion?

I've been playing with Warmoth Superwide necks for a while now and love them, I've got very big hands, well long fingers really and find 43mm nuts a bit constricting, 41mm tele nuts are impossible for me.

Thanks man,

Well my audio signal path goes...
SM57 into SP VTB1 mic tube preamp, than into my old Alesis ADAT which I use for AD conversion and than into my trusted RME Hammerfall PCI card and finally into Cubase where I usually add some verb for better feel.
